‘Haunted Hartwell’ sparks interest of TV series

Could Hartwell Hall be haunted? Many College at Brockport students, staff and faculty have posed this eerie question, and it nearly became the focus of an episode in an up-coming Syfy channel TV series. Carol Candeloro of the Jarrett Creative Group said her studio company showed interest in featuring the supposed ghosts of Hartwell Hall in an episode of School Spirits, an investigative documentary series that is currently in development.

A proposed bill in Arizona forces advertisers to place disclaimers on edited images

Turn to any magazine rack or beauty advertisement and you will see flawless skin, extra-white teeth and a perfect body. The media makes us feel that is how the average person looks, and if they don't look like that they are ugly. As many know, images used in such campaigns are not always exact.

Mac Miller: All killer, no filler

Mac Miller lit up the stage at this year's Brockport Student Government (BSG) spring concert Saturday, Feb. 18. The 20-year-old Pittsburgh native took the stage with a teasing prelude of "Best Day Ever" off his mixtape of the same name. From then on, it was an hour-long musical joyride, with Miller delivering a high-octane performance and fueling the crowd into a hyperactive frenzy through it all.

Coyote on a Fence sheds new light on death row

Capital punishment is one of the most hotly debated subjects in the country. The morality behind ending the lives of those who have been convicted of violent crimes against fellow human beings is always questioned. Opening this weekend, the College at Brockport will be hosting a renowned play that deals with the mindset and emotions of those convicted as they await their fate on death row.

Dancing with the athletes makes moves for a good cause

Dancing with the Athletes took place Thursday, Feb. 16 and was presented by the Student Dance Organization and the College at Brockport athletic department. The show featured  15 different performances by different groups made up of both dancers and athletes.
