Commuter Lounge to undergo upgrade

Goo goo dolls top choice for spring concert

Nearly 300 students responded to Brockport Student Government's latest survey, compiling results for student opinion on their spring concert choice.

The spring concert is slated to be Sunday, April 25. The 274 responses were split on favorite band to play at Brockport, with 35 percent of the votes for Goo Goo Dolls, and 29 percent for The Fray.

Independent movie to screen at Brockport with cast, crew members

Cast and crew members of Broken Dreams, an independent feature film shot in Los Angeles and currently in the festival circuit, are coming to The College at Brockport Wednesday, April 21.

The film screening and lecture features writer, producer and director David Crabtree, whose credits include "NYPD Blue" and "Psych," and music composer Jay Vincent.

Sophomore residency requirement takes effect fall 2011

In an effort to increase Brockport's retention rate and improve the sophomore experience, the college is instituting a second-year residency requirement effective fall 2011.

Evidence related to second-year residency requirements indicates students living on campus have higher GPAs and are more actively engaged with college programs than commuters, according to a report compiled by Marcy Esler, assistant to the vice president and director of Student Retention.
