1. How long have you played field hockey and how did you get started?

— I've been playing for 10 years, since the seventh grade. I started playing because I wanted to try something new in the fall, because I already played on a separate travel soccer team.

2. What team goals and individual goals have you set for yourself this year?

— As a team, we are looking to make it back into the SUNYAC tournament for the second consecutive year and to eventually make it further in the NCAA tournament. Personally, I would like to break my own record of goals scored in one season and to cap off my senior year with a title.

3. What are you going to miss most about field hockey after your senior season is over?

— I will certainly miss the thrill of the game, not knowing what will happen beforehand and putting on the uniform and playing until the last whistle blows. I'll definitely miss the girls on my team as well. We have grown so close during the years and we are a tight-knit family.

4. If you were to describe yourself in one word, what would it be?  Why?

— I would describe myself as genuine. I like to have fun with everything and always am up front with everything I do in life.

5. What are your biggest fears?

— My biggest fear is falling through a subway grate on a city sidewalk. I always walk around them when I see them on the road.

6. How did your season-ending injury in 2009 affect you as a player?

— My injury really made me appreciate the time I had on the field, but watching the game from the sideline gave me a great new perspective on how the game is played. Now I am better able to catch my mistakes and make passes and plays because I am more aware of my surroundings and the spacing of the field.

7. What is the most beneficial aspect you bring to the team?

— I would say experience. It is my fifth year playing for Brockport field hockey, so I've had the opportunity to play a variety of different teams on different surfaces and get to know how to take on each opponent individually. I also had the chance to play on an Australian field hockey team while I was abroad where I learned a whole lot more about the game and how different the pace can be.

8. What other interests do you have?

— I love to cook, I try to make a new recipe each night when I'm home and have the time. I love to travel as well. My goal is to travel to as many countries as I can at some point in my life.

9. What are some of your favorite TV shows, why?

— My favorite show would be Top Chef. I love watching them create crazy types of dishes that I would never think to try by myself. How I Met Your Mother is another show I love to watch because its about a group of friends having a great time.

10. How has field hockey shaped the person you are today?

— Playing on a team has really allowed my leadership skills to develop. Being the captain I have learned to delegate and take the team to the next level.
