A College at Brockport student was killed in a motor-vehicle accident in the early hours of May 23. Dakota Deats, 22, of Bath was pronounced dead after the car he was driving went off the side of the road and hit a utility pole. The accident happened around 3 a.

Sigma Alpha Mu named in lawsuit

Sigma Alpha Mu named in lawsuit

A Brockport freshman, who became paralyzed after a September incident, filed a lawsuit against 23 Brockport students, the national and local chapters of Sigma Alpha Mu and a local business owner. Bryan Parslow, 18, and his mother, Beth, are named plaintiffs in the lawsuit that cites underage drinking, fraternity pledging, hazing and negligence.

Women's track, field win SUNYAC

The Brockport women's track and field team got their revenge on Buffalo State by taking the outdoor SUNYAC championship in blowout fashion. Led by Melissa Scorse and Shannon O'Keeffe, Brockport grabbed 176 points, with Cortland behind them in second place with 138.

A life remembered: Daniel Dix

Hundreds of students slowly filed into the Union Ballroom Tuesday, April 28, to celebrate the life of Daniel Dix. Dix died in the early morning Saturday, April 25, after an accidental fall down a Dobson stairwell. "I think all of us have a little bit of him inside of us," friend Jess Moore said at the podium.

Students have been counting down the days till the end of classes, both in Facebook statuses and away messages.However, no matter how desperate we are to get out of here, this should be a time of reflection, a time to look back on the year as a whole. Students will begin to sigh in relief or cry in despair over course grades.

Sports Yearbook: A Look Back at Brockport Athletics 2008-09

For another year, The College at Brockport's athletic teams strung together successful 2008-09 seasons. It may not have been the most decorative the school has seen, but Brockport reaffirmed their exceptional standing within SUNYAC competition. The Golden Eagles will likely finish third in the SUNYAC commisioner cup standings, a system where every school in conference is ranked based on its success throughout the year.
